Blogging Tips on Using Images and Flagship Content

If you read 901am you already saw these handy dandy tips. (And if you haven't, sign up for 901am feed, by golly!) Nevertheless, I'm linking to these posts just so I have a permanent record of good advice - and you'll see why that's so valuable in a moment.

First, there's Google Blogoscoped's Tips for Using Images in Blogs which includes a link to the Open Clip Art LIbrary.

Then there's Chris Garret's post on his formula for a successful blog launch and his downloadable ebook "Killer Flagship Content." This is of big interest to me since I just launched a new blog on the on a large blog network. I'm wondering what I can do to quickly build up readership. Chris's free ebook is giving me lots of great ideas about content and creating a series of helpful tips on my blogs.

So what is Flagship Content?
It's a reference or series that readers refer to again and again on your blog that acts as a go to resource for your the readers in your niche. There are a number of reasons why you would create Flagship Content. One is establishing authority, which I try to do here at The Write Spot with my advice posts.

But the most important "why" is traffic conversion. As Chris writes:

Bottom line, traffic is no good if you have little of value to see. Having one or two great flagship destinations on your blog will give you something worth visiting and more importantly something to recommend to others.

The ebook gives great advice for new bloggers, old timers launching new projects, and someone whose blog has gotten a little stale. Download Chris' free ebook "Killer Flagship Content" to learn more about how to generate and even more importantly, promote your flagship content.
