Sara Ellington, author of The Mommy Chronicles: Conversations Sharing the Comedy and Drama of Pregnancy and New Motherhood, was kind enough to send me a copy of her book and lots of cool bookmarks to give away to one of my readers.
The Mommy Chronicles is a wonderful look at two women as they converse about their new lives as mothers via email. I could really relate to their discussions on pospartum depression and husbands who don’t get it. This is a great book for new and expectant mothers as well as us seasoned pros. (You can check out the book at Sara's and co-author Stephanie Triplett's website. They have a blog, too.)
How to win it?
- Post a funny picture of your child (neices, nephews and grandkids are o.k., too) or an old picture of yourself as a child on your blog.
- Write a paragraph or two (or longer, if you want) about the story behind the photo.
- Kindly mention the contest, my blog (A Mama's Rant), and link back to this post.
- To formally enter this contest - and because I have no way of knowing otherwise - put your post's link in the comments section below.
The most hilarious picture and story will win the book - it's that easy.
A Few Rules
- The picture must be posted on your blog from midnight January 2, 2006 to midnight January 9, 2006.
- The picture must be of one of your children, a neice, nephew or grandchild, or an old picture of yourself as a child.
- The main subject of the photo must be a child.
- Please do not post one of those "naughty kids covered in marker pen that has been emailed around the universe at least twice by now" pictures. If I don't recognize the picture, I'm sure someone else will and rat you out.
- One entry per person.
- Multiple entries per family are allowed. For example, one picture on mom's blog, another one on dad's blog, etc. However, please make them different pictures and stories.
- The winner will be announced on this blog on Friday, January 13.
- Please do not enter this contest if you are unwilling to email me your name and mailing address. Of course, I will not release your private info to the public on this blog. (Duh, now.)
If you have any questions, email me. Otherwise GOOD LUCK and have fun!
